Before you do anything else: stop the water
Almost every plumbing emergency gets smaller the moment the supply is shut off. If you know where your main shutoff is, close it now and read the rest afterwards.
If water is coming from the water heater, close the valve on the cold inlet at the top of the tank and switch off its breaker — a heater that keeps heating with no water in it destroys its own elements in seconds. If you smell gas, do not touch a switch: leave the building and call the gas utility from outside.

- Water heater — cold-inlet valve at the top, then its breaker
- A single fixture — the small stop valve under the sink or behind the toilet
- Gas — meter valve outside; if you smell gas, leave first and call from outside

What is an emergency, and what can wait until Monday
Call immediately: water running that you cannot stop, a burst or leaking pipe inside a wall or ceiling, sewage coming back up into the house, no water at all in the building, or the smell of gas.
Call, but it can usually wait for a scheduled visit: one dripping tap, a slow drain, a running toilet, a water heater that has stopped heating but is not leaking, low pressure at a single fixture.
Telling the difference saves you money. An after-hours call-out that was not needed is the most expensive plumbing there is.
What we do when we get there
Find the actual source rather than the wet spot — they are often in different rooms. Isolate it so the rest of the house has water back. Then repair or replace with the right material for that line, and pressure-test before anything is closed up.
If the failure is a symptom — an old galvanized line, a slab leak, a heater at the end of its life — we tell you that too, with what it would take to fix it properly, and you decide when.

Where is my main water shutoff?
In most Tampa Bay houses it is at the meter box near the street, and often there is a second valve where the line enters the house. Find it before you need it — and if the valve is seized, that is worth replacing on a calm day, not during a flood.
The water heater is leaking from the bottom. What do I do?
Close the cold-inlet valve on top of the heater and switch off its breaker or gas. A tank leaking from the body cannot be repaired — but stopping the supply stops the flood.
Sewage is coming up in the shower. Is that an emergency?
Yes. Stop using water in the house — every flush and every load of laundry makes it worse — and call. It usually means a blockage downstream of every fixture, in the main line.
I smell gas. Should I call you?
Leave the building first, do not touch switches, and call the gas utility from outside. Call us afterwards for the repair — we run and repair gas piping, but a suspected leak in the building is a utility emergency first.
What does an emergency visit cost?
We quote the job before we start it. Prices depend on what the failure turns out to be, and we would rather look than guess on the phone.

The licence CFC1432506 is held by Liubov Ivanova; Viktor Zarubitskii — in the plumbing trade since 1998 — plans the job, makes the technical decisions and works on site. Our own plumbers do the plumbing. Work outside plumbing, such as concrete cutting, we either do ourselves or bring in a contractor — either way it is written into your quote.
