Plumber in Tampa, Florida

We cross the bay into Tampa regularly, and the work here has its own shape: whole-house water treatment because of what comes out of the Hillsborough River, bathrooms taken back to the studs, and copper repipes that run under the slab. Every photograph below is our own Tampa job.

What Tampa houses ask for

Tampa's drinking water comes mainly from the Hillsborough River, and the City of Tampa publishes the number itself: hardness runs between about 140 and 300 parts per million — 8 to 17 grains per gallon — lower in the wet season, higher in the dry one. Above 120 ppm water is called hard. That is why so much of our Tampa work is a softener, a carbon tank and a filter rack on a garage wall.

The other half is remodelling. A Tampa bathroom taken back to the studs needs the pan liner done properly and the valve set at the right depth before a single tile goes on — and those are the two things nobody can fix afterwards without opening the wall again.

  • Whole-house water treatment: softener, carbon tank, three-stage filter rack
  • Shower pan liners and mixing-valve rough-ins before tile
  • Under-slab copper repiping with press fittings
  • Toilets, vanities, sink drains and faucets
  • Tub installation and water testing before the bathroom is closed up

A bathroom taken back to steel studs: pan liner and valve rough-in

An Oatey 40 mil PVC pan liner laid over the shower base and turned up the steel stud walls, with the drain test plug in and the mixing valve roughed in above it. The liner is the part of a shower nobody sees and everybody depends on: it is what catches the water the tile lets through.

Finish work: skirted toilet and a vanity faucet

A skirted one-piece toilet set on marble-look porcelain beside a floating vanity, and a brushed gold vessel faucet photographed running — because a faucet that has not been run is not a finished faucet.

Copper repipe under the slab, with press fittings

A Tampa repipe where the new copper ran through a trench cut in the slab: mains, branches and stub-ups, joined with press fittings instead of an open flame inside a finished house. The trench photographs are on our press copper page — one photograph belongs to one page here, so it lives where the work is explained.

FAQ

Tampa questions we get

Is Tampa water hard enough to need a softener?

By the usual definition, yes — the City of Tampa publishes hardness of about 140 to 300 ppm, or 8 to 17 grains per gallon, against a threshold of 120 ppm for 'hard' water. Whether you want a softener is a different question, and the city says so plainly too: hard water is fine to drink, and a softener is about how the water feels and what it leaves on your fixtures. We size equipment from your own test, not from the city average.

Does a softener put sodium in my water?

Yes, a small and calculable amount: roughly 8 mg of sodium per litre for every grain of hardness removed. At Tampa's range that is somewhere near 64 to 136 mg/L. Our article on softened water and sodium works the arithmetic through and gives the three ways around it.

Do you work in Tampa, or only in Pinellas?

Both. We are based in Clearwater and cross the bay regularly — the photographs on this page are Tampa jobs. Pro Plumbers FL, LLC holds Florida licence CFC1432506.

Can you repipe a house without cutting the walls open everywhere?

Often, yes. Where the run can go through the slab or the attic we do that instead of opening finished walls, and we use press fittings rather than a torch inside the house. What is possible depends on the house — we look before we promise anything.

We are remodelling a bathroom. When do you need to be there?

Twice, and the first time matters most: before tile, for the pan liner, the drain and the valve depth, and again at the end for the trim and the fixtures. A valve set at the wrong depth is a tile job done twice.

How fast can you come out?

We work Monday to Friday, 8am to 6pm. The phone is answered around the clock by Kate, our AI voice assistant, who takes the details — the truck comes during working hours. Call 727-470-7126 or send a photo on WhatsApp.

Who does the work

Pro Plumbers FL is partner-owned — specialists who came together in one licensed company (CFC1432506). Viktor Zarubitskii — in the plumbing trade since 1998 — plans the job, makes the technical decisions and works on site. Our own plumbers do the plumbing. Work outside plumbing, such as concrete cutting, we either do ourselves or bring in a contractor — either way it is written into your quote.
